Bully Hill Vineyards is a must see for visitors to the Finger Lakes area. This winery was founded in 1958 by Walter and Greyton Taylor. They are brothers who come from a family who has been making fine wines since 1883. There’s enough to do here to keep one busy for an entire afternoon.
A visit to Bully Hill Vineyards starts with an informative one hour tour through the winery itself. It is followed by a fun wine tasting that is based on the founders philosophy of “wine and laughter.” Their hours are 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM every day. Also onsite you’ll find two gift shops, a wine shop, and a restaurant.
The restaurant features innovative cuisine, pizzas, seafood, and barbeque. Outdoor seating is available with wonderful views of Keuka Lake. Due to its lovely setting, many select this location from among the Finger Lakes Wineries for wedding receptions and conferences. They are open from May through October, every day except Mondays and Tuesdays. Hours are 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
In the Bully Hill Vineyards wine shop you’ll find their large selection of wines which include white, red, sparkling, rose, and specialty wines. There are 40 different kinds in all. They are New York’s second biggest producer with over 200,000 cases being sold each year.
Be sure to take note of the unusual labels found on Bully Hill Vineyards bottles. These Finger Lakes Wineries labels are known for their art work. Founder Walter Taylor started this tradition with his own creative artistry.
It is in honor of the founders that they have made the Walter S. Taylor Art Gallery available onsite, as well as the New York Wine Museum of Greyton H. Taylor. This is a wonderful addition to this Finger Lakes Winery. As a guest you can include these into your visit.
